There's no idiot ball anymore. It has long since dissolved and become a plague that sweeps through the lands of Westeros.

Part of the reason I wished they had died in the previous episode. The writers clearly have no idea what to do with certain characters. At least Tormund was allowed to escape and hopefully he'll stay away from the horrible script.

The Jaimie and Brienne stuff wasn’t surprising or poorly written, I didn’t think. That’s been telegraphed for a long time and is the closest thing this show has to a consistent arc at this point. She’s never shown any interest in Tormund so blowing him off isn’t surprising. Though I do doubt she would become all ready after a couple days with Jaimie. That doesn’t seem her style. I imagine Jaimie and Brienne getting together is something from the books as well

Oh, well then yeah I agree. Tyrion straight up asking her was way too on the nose. They could’ve just had her get upset about another question, a more innocuous one, and have Jaimie follow to console.

I just came to think that if they had made a large puppet in the early seasons they could have had ghost in a lot more episodes by just having him lay or sit still in the background. And if the head was detachable combined with some clever camera angling they could even have ghost playfully poke and bite at Jon.

Agreed, honestly it makes it look like a pity fuck. Even if they had some tension building up for a long time.

Renly danced with her because he saw that other boys were dancing with her to mock her. Jaime sees her embarrassed at being called out for being a virgin, and...

The writers are determined that no one gets a nice romance, not even Jon x Ghost, the ultimate OTP.

I'd have done the same if they'd just aimed their scorpions at Dany, Tyrion, Grey Worm, and Varys, and just obliterated the entire threat then and there. Not because I prefer Cersei, but to punish the stupid.

Now imagine this episode but through the minds of rational, and sensible characters. Had good potential for setting up the continuation of a war that began in season 1. But nah lets just use the orb of confusion on literally everyone...except Tormund
