Yara the Useless rolled up just in time to demand it.

But since when have the Seven Kingdoms ever given half a damn what the Ironborn want? It’s not like Yara is Harren the Black or even Euron. The Iron Fleet has been destroyed like twice now and they are one of the poorest kingdoms with the least resources.

In fact, why is she even there? Haven’t the Iron Isles been an independent kingdom for quite a while now? They declared it and Dany recognized it. Who could’ve reclaimed them? And then Sansa, who also intends to stay independent, decided that her uncle Edmure couldn’t rule a kingdom she doesn’t even intend to be part of. The fate of the Six/Seven Kingdoms was ultimately decided by two women who are no longer part of those kingdoms, and a dwarf prisoner who everybody hates.

At least Jon and Ghost turned out alright. Though it is a bit comical that Bran turned into despot. Tywin kinda deserve a statue as he managed to rule effectively when he was Hand, as well as saving his House from the brink of ruin. Cersei on the other hand...

Power corrupts, absolute power... is a whole lot of fun!

True. Which the video seems to have missed. Though I think that of those in the show, Tywin is one of the more deserving of a statue. Not that deserving has anything to do with it as Joffrey got a statue at one point.

Only in the Westerlands. Tywin was a negative for almost everyone else.

I’d be surprised if Robert doesn’t have a few statues. He won the big rebellion, made friends with most of his enemies, and had fifteen years of peace aside from a brief lull to put down the Greyjoy rebellion, which he won decisively. In the eyes of the public, things were great under him and only started to go badly when people other than him took over. Then again, he probably has lots of statues. Jon Arryn and Ned Stark are probably the most deserving of all, being largely responsible for Robert’s success.

Don't know much, or really anything, of Jon Arryn but he seemed to be able to keep it together well enough as Hand. Robert however seemed more like the incidental leader that happened to get the crown because no one else really wanted it. His biggest contribution outside of the rebellion was not doing much to fuck up his own government.

That’s exactly what Robert was, but when 99% of the population is illiterate and uneducated, the public opinion is likely going to be based on what they can immediately and clearly observe. Robert is king > 15 year peace. Robert dies > everything immediately goes to shit.

And then there’s the fact that all of Robert’s major doubters were Targaryen loyalists. But then a Targaryen finally returned and she turned out to be the worst of the lot, vindicating Robert even further.
