NVM, they aren't inspired by them, the Falmer ARE the creatures from the Descent XD

I wonder if Todd saw the movie and made them add them (The design works really well as Morlock Elves) XD

It is stated that the Falmer are literally exactly directly inspired by this movie lol, don’t ask me to remember where but trust me on that

Makes sense. Closer graphics get to real life, the slower improvements will be. I think physics and animations are still a little behind, though.

I think that's the avenue they are going to go down. Less focus on photo-realism when we are already very close to that, and more on the way things actually move.

This is super fucking weird.

Just announced; first ever Dracula game to get the official license from the Bram Stroker estate...and it's a gameboy game

Not a retro throwback designed to replicate, but legit developed for the gameboy (Which apparently is becoming a big thing in the retro community)

I’m tempted to dust off my Gameboy for this. XD

I haven't. It got good reviews, but I hear the writing is super divisive and meta.

Gameplaywise, I hear they were inspired alot by REmake 2, which sounds promising.

Except in REmake 2 you jump straight into the gameplay. According to my friends, you don’t even encounter an enemy in AW2 for like the first hour or so. Apparently it’s one of those "movie games" where you spend a lot more time walking around in what should be cutscenes, listening to your character talk while nothing interesting happens.

Which explains the positive reviews. Game critics love that shit. TLoU2 was their favorite game of all time. I hate it. XD And if the characters and dialogue aren’t good, then it’s doubly bad because that’s what it’s leaning on.

And spoiler.

Guy I know has played over three hours and Alan Wake still hasn’t even shown up in it. According to him, the actual main character, the FBI lady, is pretty lame and doesn’t talk or act like a real human being.

On a different note, I have now seen every Saw movie, including the new Saw X. This series is awful. XD Did you know that the ninth one stars Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson?   Cause I sure didn’t. And it’s easily the worst in an already garbage set of movies.

But amazingly, the tenth movie in this bizarre franchise is the one that is actually not half bad. Weird how they randomly made a decent movie after ten attempts. It’s still janky as hell at times (like one of the traps is just straight up impossible), but it’s got more good than bad for once.

Saw 6 isn’t completely terrible either. It’s definitely pretty dumb at times, but it has the best main character and the traps are actually well done and somewhat thought provoking, which isn’t the case in any of the others.

To be honest I couldn't get past 4. My box set of the series has been rotting. I enjoyed the first two and then they kept repeating the same formula even after Jigsaw died (and the deaths were becoming almost parody in terms of how dumb and ridiculous the trap were getting)

To my utter shock, the newest one was pretty good. I think it's because they went back to focusing on John Kramer (who was the only noteworthy character in the first place) was more of a study on him the  torture porn.

Yeah, Kramer was easily the highlight of Saw X.

And shockingly, the movie had an actual story to tell, more so than the formulaic "evil guy kidnaps and tortures people with sick games".

It was about an evil guy going through great lengths to cure his cancer, getting cheated, and punishing those who wronged him. It felt less sickening than previous films because these people were all pieces of crap, themselves (in one movie he literally traps a guy for being a smoker ). And it had by far the most character development for Kramer, as well as the best performance from his actor.
