The funniest scene, but actually kinda poignant, was after Kramer believed his cancer was cured. He’s sitting on that park bench, sketching trap ideas for his next "game", the he pauses and throws the paper in a trash can.

To me it seemed like he decided then and there to stop being Jigsaw, and to just focus on appreciating his own life now that he’s got a second chance at it.

Then he finds out he’d been tricked and returns to serial killer mode x10. Kinda gives Saw X somewhat of a tragic element to it.

Nothing complex, but it’s a hell of a lot more compelling than any of the other movies, which (besides 6) are pretty much just cheap torture porn that I’d ever only hate watch with friends for a laugh. This one actually had some character work that wasn’t paper thin.

@BigBossBalrog

I just heard an idea for a hypothetical Resident Evil Revelations 3 that I absolutely loved. XD

Set it in a South American jungle, in a region of warring rebel/cartel factions. The BSAA can’t go in because it’s such a political hotspot, so they hire a small team of mercenaries to do some recon on a potential bioweapon situation.

Carlos would finally return as the team leader and character you play as. Chosen by the BSAA because Jill knows him and trusts that he can get the job done.

It’s a simple recon job, but you can then pull a "Predator", have things go way wrong, and now have Carlos in a jungle horror scenario where he’s dealing with zombies, bioweapon monsters, or whatever.

It’s a new setting for the series (and not one they’re unfamiliar with since it’s so similar to Dino Crisis 2), a chance to see Carlos again, and in true RE fashion it could be full of homages to classic horror movies, in this case Predator.

According to the lore all we know about post RE3 Carlos, is that joined with some guerillas in South America after Racoon City, so it'd honestly be perfect.

At this point, maybe there could be a twist that ties into that plot revelation from Village that the BSAA has become rotten and corrupted. Maybe have it so the group themselves were the ones conducting experiments, and the opposing faction were actually the good guys all along.

Would be the perfect game for a new stalker. Maybe finally have you fight the BSAA Tyrant Soldiers

That would be an interesting "final act twist" like RE always does.

Act 1 is Carlos in the rainforest, separated from his team and trying to survive and navigate the terrifying situation. You could have the dense jungle and an infected village as the main locations.

Act 2 is where the bioweapon conspiracy side of things ramps up. Carlos now knows that the situation is out of hand and must actually try to stop it himself. Could involve dealing with the warring factions in military bases/camps or some such.

Act 3 is the obligatory hidden science lab where all the shit comes from. But with the twist that corrupt elements of the BSAA actually arrive with their Tyrants and whatnot to clean house and cover the whole thing up. Carlos must escape while dealing with both sides and deliver his findings to Chris and Jill so they can expose the corruption.

Simple, easy, full of callbacks, and in a new and fitting setting.

Or have Chris and his "wolves" come in house to clean shit up and extract him Call of Duty style XD

It's kind of a shame Resident Evil just forgets about the partner characters introduced after their only game. Barry and Rebecca are the only exceptions, but they are still only in one other game.

My one hesitation with this is that I wouldn’t want to make Carlos come across as an Ethan Winters type "civilian" character (I use that loosely since he turns out to be an immortal mold demigod :P) who the needs the tacticool action men to swoop in and save him. Carlos is one of the tacticool action man, hired by other tacticool action men to enter a place where they cannot for political reasons. So I kinda prefer the idea of them expecting him to escape on his own while keeping their hands clean to maintain plausible deniability. Maybe just provide a helicopter for covert extraction.

That way we could have it be the corrupt "evil" sect of the BSAA who enter in force, probably unbeknownst even to most of their own organization, with no intention of leaving any witnesses or survivors.

Agreed. It’s why I loved the idea of a Carlos game so much.

Same goes for Sheva, though getting her to return might require more explaining since she works in Africa.

That said, it would totally be in character for Jill to ignore orders to go and help him herself. She famously does this all the time anyway, and she is the only living character who actually knows and cares about Carlos, so them interacting would be nice to see.

If the game had a subplot where she learned that a corrupt sect of the BSAA was going to purge all witnesses, she would absolutely grab Chris and go do something about it.

I think Chris is pretty much Rogue with his hounds in Village; and there's an implication he's being supported by Blue Umbrella. He's AWOL. I don't think he'd be surprised at.

We don't know what Jill's up to, but I'd imagine as soon as Chris found out about the shit they were doing in Village (deploying BOW's) he'd tell her right away. I could see her staying on to keep tabs for Chris.

In that case, I might even leave Chris out it entirely. Too complicated. Let the BSAA hire Carlos because they know of him from Jill’s old Raccoon City reports, then they stab him in the back when the situation blows up. That’s when Jill blows her cover to help him in the final act.

And if you really want to get fan servicey :PChris can provide them with a safe haven or something at the end. Or Leon and the US government. Or that group Claire works for.

Alternatively, you could also just set the game earlier in the timeline, before Chris left the BSAA. Hell, you could even set it between RE7 and RE8 and have it be part of the reason Chris leaves.

I finished another horror game.

I'll be honest, I bought when I heard it was based on German folklore, and doubled as a Yuri themed life-sim, but I really ended up enjoying the folklore aspects. Little Goody Two Shoes. XD

The loop was based around you controlling a girl named Elise. She lives in the mountains, on the outskirts of a town. She's a...little bit of a asshole, but she's in a pretty bad situation. (She's the town scapegoat for alot of things, she lives in poverty, and the game really does the "little town where everyone is nosy" really well)  The daylight portions are her trying to makes ends meet by doing odd jobs around the town, navigating the very complex social structure (there's witch trials going on, and you have to be really careful with what you say; they actually put consequences to acting like a brat), and there's a dating sim aspect.

And then at night (the sequences are called "The Witching Hour) the games turns into a survival horror game XD Elise is being "approached" by an entity that's offering her the fulfillment of all her dreams (mainly money and power) and she's brought to this psychedelic dream places, filled with monsters that want to kill her. She needs to gather "sacraments" as offerings to the "Lord in the Woods."  ("A homely meal", 'Nectar of sustenance", and "Good Company"

It uses an animish art-style but the devs said they were directly inspired by 90's animation instead of the new tripe; mainly Sega Saturn games; and the presentation is amazing.

@BigBossBalrog I know this is criminal considering I’ve yet to finish RE4, but I booted up and played a little Code Veronica today.

What I learned is that am way out of practice with oldschool tank controls. XD

Oh fuck, if you want to play an old school RE, why don't you play Remake 1 instead of Code Veronica (it's way better, even if I like Code Veronica) XD You have the option to play with a modern control scheme

Because it’s the closest thing there is to an RE2 sequel. RE4 gives me Leon’s next chapter and CV gives me Claire’s.

I’ll play Remake 1 in good time.

I guess if you can handle it's unrestrained camp, it's pretty good, and a fun romp XD The level design is nice and Metroidvania, but there's alot more set-pieces then the older games.
