You can't program the human brain like a robot, there will always be detractors.

I agree that there will be detractors. But in a system built on there not being any there should be a more competent way of finding and terminating them. Or at least checking for them in units of high importance. Such as Kylo Ren's bodyguard.

This is the part that's weird to me. How did he end up going on shock missions with Kylo freaking Ren if his only experience was mopping floors and operating the trash compactor?

Though to be fair, judging by the concept art they had some significant late-stage rewrites when it came to Fin's character. From what I've seen, they had some really cool shit planned for him back in the day. After crash landing on Jakku he would've encountered a warrior tribe in the desert and become their leader using his skills and training as a Stormtrooper. That bloody handprint on his helmet was a reference to this as it was originally going to be his face paint.

That makes a lot more sense. Why the heck didn't they go with that?

While this is true, Ulysses still struggled for a long time with it. I do agree with Witch that it's a little odd how Fin seems to have the personality and perspective of a completely normal dude who hasn't been brainwashed at all. It feels like he joined as an adult, learned a lot of useful information, and then split after realizing how bad it was.

I remember that.

I guess the first order didn't really care about your overall experience. Kinda makes them seem incompetent, but they were just raiding some village, not facing a bunch of combatants, aside from Poe. Though they werent expecting him.

They also probably figured he could guard himself.

I do think it's weird though. Like I said, makes them seem incompetent but I think you're right on the late stage rewrites.

I'm guessing the first movie went through a lot of different ideas and concepts before they arrived at the final product, and perhaps the desert warrior thing with Fin didn't line up with the rest of what they had planned. It probably would've required a much longer movie.

I personally would have liked if they just scrapped Starkiller altogether and went with something different. I think having the entire movie revolve around Jakku might have worked.

If all he ever did was mop floors and stuff, then they probably never expected much of him, and probably didn't do all that much brainwashing on him, though he does have enough training to handle and prefer a blaster, and he's got armor so he's obviously expected to fight.

The weird part to me isn't that he is like this, the weird part to me is that they brought him along for killing at all.

He's still a "Stormtrooper" or whatever they're called now. He received enough training to hold his own with a gun and in melee, and they clearly expected him to be willing and able to kill (they straight up slaughtered that village). So even if that was his first combat engagement and he only did maintenance work before it, I don't think that he'd have gotten to dodge the whole brainwashing aspect of it.

That could've been cool. Would've had to be a totally different movie, but I think they could've maintained a lot of the character arcs that they had (Kylo, Han Solo, and Rey) without the Starkiller and still made the First Order out to be a great threat. I honestly wouldn't have minded if the movie was set just in Jakku and Takodana.

Although it would've been a shame to miss out on that badass snowy forest setting for the final fight with Kylo.

Unless, of course, it's like you said and the leaders are really just that incompetent. Which I don't think is completely unbelievable.

It is kinda weird how Phasma identifies him by name and face with so little trouble, though. You'd think that she'd have rooted him out long ago if he showed signs of nonconformity.

Personally I'd have changed it so the First Order was Empire remnants and instead of Snoke they'd have some Grand Moff that has united them in the face of the growing Republic. No Starkiller or any such nonsense. Instead have it be a dirty war for resource rich planets.

I would’ve kept Snoke because he’s too big a part of Kylo’s story, which is my favorite part of the new trilogy by far.

I'd make him some kind of holocron of an ancient Sith Lord. An imperfect AI copy. Something that Kylo finds. Would kinda explain where the heck Snoke came from and why he suddenly appears.

I think modding has gone too far...

So they made a creature combining the two most dangerous ones in the game. Sounds like it was made a Dark Souls fan. Can't imagine anything other than a masochist making it.

Though I don't see how this is going too far. I was expecting some underage anime shit when you said that.

Who says they haven't played Dark Souls? :P

Can you imagine how amazing a let’s play of Dark Souls by the Think tank would be? Every time one of them dies they have to pass the controller. Their frustration and bickering would be priceless.

I can already hear Klein berating 0 for every screw up before making the same mistake himself. And the others questioning why Dalla always removes the PC’s armor when she plays.

I wonder what builds each brain would use XD

BTW You guys hear about the crazy waifucaust? So apparently Valve took a bunch of VN's down from steam, and threatened to remove a bunch more if they weren't censored. at the urging of a radical puritan group, National Center for Sexual something (they think Porn's to blame for child rape and trafficing with other crazy opinions) and the internet backlash was so bad (I even saw some mainstream media talking about it) Valve apologised to the Devs and put everything back up, fucking weird XD

Iron Dragonslayer is dead on first try, now I see the armor you use Colonel. Fucking edgy.

That's not my armor ;) the armor I use usually is what the guy at the undead settlement has. The morne knight.

What I'm using currently though is from the second DLC, and from Dark Souls 2. Forgot what it's called but it's gold.
