In that scene, the actor forgot his character’s original name, which was supposed to be long and complicated. So he ad-libbed it and was like “Tim?” And then the scene cuts away immediately after because the others apparently all burst out laughing. They decided to keep it. Rewatch the scene, you can see it in his eyes when he forgets the line. It's always nice when your writing gets reinforced by the canon after you come up with it. Bringing Japanese dark horror and themes to a game with a western setting and imagery, it's the perfect combination. Especially for those that couldn't appreciate them normally because they couldn't relate to what's essentially a whole different world. They bridge the gap essentially.
