  1. Finally checked out Amnesia: The Bunker today. I liked it. Too tired to get into it now, but man it so much better than Rebirth.
  2. I mean, it’s not a newly discovered or unstudied condition. And not even that rare in the grand scheme of neurological conditions (not to say it isn’t rare, but it’s not like a 1 in a million thing). There are thousands of documented cases, and while some can get pretty wild, a case where a person turns into something like "the Beast", a crazy cannibal with super powers (or near enough), would certainly be an extreme outlier, if it’s ever happened at all. But that’s why the movie is fun; it takes a real condition and combines it with an absolute human extreme. Of course. You don’t need to convince me of the movie’s premise. I know and like it quite a bit, even wish we’d gotten more of it. You’ve honestly made me want to go back and rewatch.
  3. She’s had some DID patients and spent a fair amount of time studying the condition, but unfortunately never had any that were particularly exciting. Hopes to someday. I believe that’s primarily what she was referring to. The way his "Beast" personality took it from a medical condition to a super power. I don’t recall his strength being beyond what a human could potentially do at their limits, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it and same for her. Plausible isn’t the word I’d use. Whole point of the movie is that it’s exceptional.
  4. We were talking last night so I asked her about this. I guess I should backtrack because she does have complaints about inaccuracies, but it made for a better movie so it gets a pass. Just treat it like a fictional "Super DID" and it works fine.
  5. Screw it, turn Fallout into Call of Cthulhu. Nyarlathotep started the Great War and Caesar turned evil when he saw the color out of space. Wouldn’t make it any worse at this point.
  6. How a chemmed-up wastelander who’s taken too many radscorpion stings to the head and sometimes thinks he’s Nyarlathotep? And other times he’s Hamlet. And others, President Eden. Maybe occasionally a protectron robot.
  7. @BigBossBalrog On the topic of spookies, don’t forget, watch A Haunting in Venice. I’m telling you, it’s excellent.
  8. To be fair, neither would 99% of Lone Wanderers if Bethesda had the balls to let us players the leash.
  9. The only other people I know who watched it are my brother and, funnily enough, a neurologist friend. I guess it was indeed well researched because she really liked it and didn’t complain to me about inaccuracies like I’m sure she would’ve had it been done badly.
  10. Yeah, that is what soured me towards the ending. I remember mostly liking the movie aside from that part.
  11. I really liked Unbreakable when it came out, but it’s been so long now that I no longer remember it well enough to say if it’s my favorite. My memory of Split is a lot stronger and yeah, fair choice. I feel like it flew under the radar because M. Night Shyamalan’s reputation was in the dumps when it came out and nobody gave it a chance, but it’s a very solid horror/thriller with a cool premise. Glass is the last one I saw but it didn’t stick with me the way Split did. It was kinda cool how it tied the other movies together, but I hated the ending and most the rest is kind of a blur to me.
  12. My ancestors are smiling at me, Bethestard. Can you say the same?
  13. For the love of Yes Man, shut up and let’s get this over with.
  14. The number of cases doesn’t really mean much to me because that’s the nature of witch hunts. Opportunistic people smell blood and pile on hoping to make a quick buck. But yeah, those quotes are a lot more damning.
  15. Was he found guilty of anything? Far as I can tell, the article just describes allegations, which he still denies. Nothing wrong with people wanting to see evidence before jumping on a "burn the witch" bandwagon. It’s way too easy and common for people to lie about being victims. Especially in recent years when "believe all women" has become a slogan regardless of context. Granted, I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be guilty. The culture behind the French film industry seems to be about as disgusting as Hollywood, if not worse.
  16. For context. He’s clearly being funny there, but regarding the credits thing, I have no idea if that particular shot was deliberate or coincidence, but I do think the premise of the show itself, what it does with the world and themes of Fallout, stems from pettiness.
  17. The image of a crashed NCR vertibird in the streets of a barren and dead New Vegas with Todd Howard’s name on top is the perfect summation of the series at this point.
