  1. Absolutely not. Honestly so far the main quest feels very ignorable. I’m just doing the main quest right now with my first playthrough and where I’m at currently feels like those first couple of mission Caius sends you on in Morrowind. As of right now there’s not some grave universal doom coming that only the PC is capable destroying
  2. I think y’all should definitely give Starfield the good ole Gamepass try and I think y’all will enjoy it
  3. It’ll be a bit. Still about an hour to go before my girls go down
  4. So I’m 2-3 hours behind y’all, if you’re up for it I can do that screen share thing through discord and show y’all the game a little bit, or if it’ll be too late I can record and upload the raw footage to YouTube and send y’all a link
  5. So space suits are a big part of the game. The clothing is very Fallout 3-NV where an outfit is one piece and headgear is one piece. The space suit vary from cool looking advanced nasa punk suits to very recognizable space suits and there’s a lot of variation in the space suit helmets. The boost packs also have a lot of variation. I’ll take some screen shots later and upload them after my girls go to skeep
  6. I’m enjoying Starfield thoroughly. I haven’t even done main, faction, or any major side quest lines and the few side quests I’ve done have been enjoyable. I just figured out how to customize my ship and it’s pretty insane and fun. I still need to visit Akila and Neon, but I’ve been to Cedonya and New Atlantis and they are impressive cities by Bethesda standards
  7. I’m looking forward to eventually playing Fallout 5 when I’m retired lol. It’ll be great because we’ll be in the era of gaming where you upload your consciousness into the game world and stuff so my 80 year old body won’t limit me
  8. Yeah, I was never really “hyped” for Starfield. I bought it because I want to enjoy it, but I’m not like foaming at the mouth to jump back into it everyday like I was the first 4 months Fallout 4 was out lol. If this was Elder Scrolls 6 I would be losing my fucking mind and my wife would probably be pissed because she wouldn’t be able to get me off of the computer. I think a big thing contributing to the lack of enthusiasm amongst us is Bethesda cultivated that reaction with the lackluster Creation Club, Skyrim AE, Fallout 4, and 76. They fucked around and made awful decisions and released half-baked shit for almost a decade. It’s a self inflicted injury on their part. With what I’ve experienced so far in Starfield tho it feels like a bit of a course correction and I can genuinely say, at this point, it gives me hope for TES 6. I’m hoping the rest of the game doesn’t disappoint and the DLC is great too but that remains to be seen.
  9. I’m actually enjoying Starfield quite a bit. The very very little I’ve done and seen so far has been enjoyable. In classic Bethesda fashion tho, mods will fix the minor complaints I have lmao. It really feels like Bethesda finally took the feedback from Skyrim, F4, and F76 and actually listened. Silent protagonist makes a triumphant return with a good dialogue system very reminiscent of FNV and F3. The persuasion mini game in dialogue is really interesting and they background checks, skill checks, extra. the one companion I have so far is actually a character on her own and it’s refreshing. Think a mix between F4 companions with FNV’s able to inquire into there thoughts/backgrounds and you can even have them speak for you in some instances. skill/perks in the game is a fusion between TES use to improve and F4’s perk system. Like one of the perks I took was boost pack skill. In order to “level” the skill up to level 2 and unlock more abilities and better boost pack upgrades I had to use the boost pack 10 times in combat. So on and so forth
  10. I haven’t fucked around with stuff yet. I’ve mostly just been looting everything lmao. I’ll let you know tho
  11. You can definitely feel elinora’s touch in Starfield. The clutter and decorations around the location is way better and way more lived in than any previous Bethesda title
  12. Then again I could be wrong, that’s just how it feels at the moment. It is fucking odd tho
  13. 6.5 hours into Starfield. I’m warming up to it. I’ve encountered a Freestar Ranger and from what I can tell they are the FC equivalent to the UC’s Vanguard but idk for sure yet. Zero G combat is a trip. Enemies are damage spongy as always with Bethesda. Boarding is cool, you disable a ships shields, and then their engines and dock you ship to there’s then do normal combat in their ship and you can claim the ship for yourself. Everytime I enter a new system a new quest line starts. One thing I noticed that’s kinda annoying and is really not inline with Bethesda is the body looting. The weapons, ammo, aid, and junk items are all true to form but the outfit and gear looting is totally random. It’s not always what the person is actively wearing and when you loot the “clothes” of space suit gear the items don’t respawn on the corpse. More thoughts to come later
  14. The UC has been trying to get me to join the “Vanguard” to earn my citizenship but I’m staying neutral as of right now
  15. I haven’t gotten far enough to actually know what the fuck they are about other than United Colonies claims to be the direct descendants of earth and its governments, earth being rendered uninhabitable in the early 2200’s. The Freestar Collective idk I have encountered them yet, the crimson fleet is space pirates and House Var’uun are crazy homicidal space Christian’s that worship a giant snake. I’m sure I’ll be able to give a more in-depth description in like a week or two lol. With 2 kids it’s hard to game like I used too, I only played a total of 5 hours yesterday
  16. As for factions so far I’ve been able to identify the United Colonies, Freestar Collective, The Crimson Fleet, and House Var’uun
  17. Although the tutorial being longer makes sense because it introduces you to a lot, like movement, extraction, flight, space combat, grab jumping, pirates, etc whereas fallout and Skyrim are here’s how to swing a sword and cast a spell lol
  18. Definitely longer than helgen. I’d say it would be Fallout 4’s intro, but instead of exiting the vault and getting free reign, you’d need to rescue Preston and then the game let’s you vibe
  19. Tho I will say, I haven’t encountered any bugs yet or glitches. Haven’t had a crash yet either. Animations, people graphics, clothes, and overall graphically fidelity is phenomenal. I have high hopes for TES 6 in these areas. An elder scrolls game with the picture and smoothness of gameplay will be ground breaking. In terms of how much of an improvement Starfield is compared to Fallout 4 would be like going from Morrowind to Skyrim SE
  20. Ok so initial thoughts, space combat is engaging. I haven’t tried boarding an enemy ship yet, tho I will soon. Regular combat is by far an improvement to Fallout 4. I haven’t tried the new settlement system yet. The opening to the main quest is a little slow for me, but I also have no fucking idea what the fuck is going on so that may play a part. Space travel is like the outer worlds, like almost identical to that system. New Atlantis (the main big city) gives off an imperial city/new Vegas segmented city vibe while also sorta feeling like night city in cyberpunk. I’m definitely more engaged with Starfield than I was with the Outer Worlds, but I feel like I’d suffering from the same “it’s a space game that isn’t Star Wars” problem for me. I’ll keep updating as I play
  21. It’s a Bethesda game… of course its going to have loading screens… they haven’t figured out ladders yet
