Also Beyond Skyrim and Skywind are both making a huge mistake with Imperial armor. In all the 3d art I've seen they make it boring Romanesque, which in Beyond Skyrim can be forgiven since it's modern era but Skywind needs the old stuff.

I feel like a lot of Morrowind stuff would look badass if it was put on a more modern engine. Not just Legion, but in general. The textures and character models just held it back too much.
I don't think anything could make Imperial Newtscale look badass

I justify the huge decline in Legion armor quality by assuming it goes hand-in-hand with the huge decline in Imperial strength overall.
Not arguing in the slightest, in fact you're absolutely correct.
It's just me being a massive stickler for historically practical arms and armor. Had it been anywhere else I'd vehemently state that Gambeson would have been much better for mass production then leather since it's also far more protecting. However this is Skyrim and as either you or Colonel brought up to me there is are plenty of sources for gathering leather in Skyrim and is far more practical then raising flax.
All in all it's just a preference.

I liked the Morrowind Legion armor because it felt right for that region. Some aspects of the designs survived into Oblivion with the county guard sets, but for the most part, it felt intentionally unique to that part of the world.
The kit I felt like would be fitting for any campaigning/occupying/defending non-cyrodiilic Legion would be the most obvious one. Maille! (Chainmail)
I love the multitude of influences on it. Norman, Iberian, Roman, fantastical etc. It makes so much more sense then fucking leather armor that's better in stats then Stormcloak mail. Morrowind had the Legion equipped with plate before Oblivion so I have no problem with the existence of full plate in that game.

What the Skyrim Legion lacked was a good Titus Pullo character.

Maybe if them boyz looked like the ones from spartacus and gladiator I'd give em some swag points.
BITCH That's the Roman influence I don't want to see in their kit.

Meh. I don't really care for any of their armor.
Hey come on back then the whole Roman aspect was hardly noticeable. Their kit was unique.

They had like one or two bitch lines and then the rest is a line straight out of Bloodborne
Blood. I NEED YOAR BLUUUUD!
I'd straight up join the Imperials if they kept with the fucking Morrowind style armor. ;-;

Been waiting for this game to release. Damn shame my potato can't handle it.

My only part of all this is I find it unfortunate that such an old and historically important building is damaged.
But I am a fucking history nerd so that's expected

Well the armor was called Stormcloak and Dunmer. Looked into it and turns out it was for Dunmer character joining Stormcloaks in mind.

I pretty much got all the armor mods I’ll ever need
Ain't even suggesting it, just some cool looking Stormcloak stuff.

@ColonelKillaBee Yo while looking up good mage armor for my first magic focused run of Skyrim I found this nice mod.

Purple dye was an expensive ass color to have. Huge reason why later Roman Emperors adored the stuff. It really doesn't fit on soldiers.
