    That kind of armor is typically for mounted combat, good luck riding a horse or otherwise with the thing facing the wrong way. 'Sides, what'chu have to fear unless you running away?

    You know I don't understand why so many fantasy armors have those long scaled extensions that protect the legs (I don't know the name of them.) That's an old Skythian armor thing, and it's supposed to wrap around the front while leaving the back opened, not the front. For example my old Berahthram commission had the proper style, and honestly I think it looks cooler. Plus they're supposed to be two separate pieces that overlap that way you can ride your mount, which I think they are for that ESO armor set so ignore that.

    At first I was about to whine about how they fucked up the axe head, but then I saw it flat on the ground in that last picture and realized it was just the angle. That's one sweet ass axe, shame its locked behind two fugly armors.

    So I just started up a new character in Skyrim as a Dunmer, using Live Another Life my guy spawns in Windhelm as a refugee. Goes outside to the main gates and sees Rolff being an ass, talks to Dunmer thot who complains that the Nords are treating her poorly, and sympathizes for the Argonians for their 'bullying'. Then as soon as I get out of conversation this bitch talks about how she wishes the Argonians would stop being lazy lizards

    You could still wear a thinner gambeson and then mail atop that, or an arming doublet. But I absolutely refuse to think anyone except the Bretons and Imperials would use arming doublets.

    Honestly I think the quilted gambeson looks absolutely lit with the carved Nord armor. Not the chausses but the regular gambeson. I think it fits better than mail would have, and that's saying something.

    I think that's it, if you're going to have quilted gambeson chausses then you either have to have complete leg protection instead of just greaves, or nothing at all and just show footwear. Because it just looks strange to me seeing chausses inside of boots with greaves. Go all the way or none at all.
