  1. I will say, however, Oblivion has the best individual dungeon. That massive fortress complex that holds Mehunes Razor. That's how you make a Dungeon!
  2. Exactly. They were less complex, but my first playthrough I never got tired of exploring more dungeons because each of them felt unique. Even the bandit caves.
  3. In terms of campaign, I don't know a single person who played for it's complexity. If you want a complex 4x title, you play Crusader Kings or Universalis Europa. It's always been about the complicated battles. And the battles have gotten more complex. And I look at it a different way. Streamlining has improved the gameplay. The settlement system makes it strategic in where you place your stuff. Do you want to make the province a bread farming province or a recruitment settlement? Because it the old titles, it didn't even matter, you could place as many buildings as you want. Historical authenticity has also increased exponentially. Spartans are no longer wearing Rome. Athenian hoplites no longer use Macedonian Pike formations. No more Elephant Mounted Elephants. Instead of coming from the mummy, the Egytpians are portrayed as accurately looking like their part of Alexander's army.
  4. Hope they stay away from it. Medevial 2 was good (great) for the time, but it's super aged. Shogun 2 and Empire we're the height of the historical games.
  5. Well at least Thrones is coming out in a month. Went from being lukewarm to pretty excited. Still can't believe they went with Africa instead of fucking India... Anyway, at least I can play my ancestors now
  6. You should get a kraken coiling around a ship or some shit. But the Africans wouldn't have used them?
  7. Nah it isn't. The new Viking Total War is having Shield Maidens which will all know is fake too. I just find it hilarious they did this DLC when nobody wanted it, and I dont even know who the audience is supposed to be
  8. https://www.totalwar.com/blog/saba-roster-reveal "Marib Camel Cataphracts" Aren't Cataphracts ahistorical for this time period (classical Rome)? So instead of "We Wuz Kings and shiet" it should "We Wuz Cataphracts and shit..."
  9. I just don't understand this hatred towards Tallyfolk. What's the weirdest thing you've seen them do?
  10. Are those the inbred horses from that horrible little town you said you always have to go too
  11. Skyrim seriously jumped the Shark when it came to guilds (and quests in general) Like in Oblivion the Guild Quests put you in unique situations. Even some of the more basic quests had a cool spin to them. Like the early Fighters Guild one we're you hve to resupplya squad of guldies who are assualting a goblin cave. In Skyrim they we're basically ALL Dungeon delves. I hate to say it but I think it just laziness. Because they had plans for pretty cool shit They GUTTED the Civil War Questline, and they cut the Arena completely. Fucking horrible...
  12. You could do alot actually. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Paranoia Oblivion's side quests we're great...
  13. No, I was talking about the Anvil Manor It has a cool sidequest we're the house you bought turns out to be haunted. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Where_Spirits_Have_Lease
  14. Skingard Manor was the shit. Wasn't that the one with the really cool Haunted House side quest?
  15. Yeah and those House had cool mechanics too. Like in the Thieves Den recruiting your crew, and sending them out on raiding missions.
  16. I kinda liked Hearthfire (Adoption was a really sweet and cool mechanic), but I so wish we got the super cool class themed housing DLC like Oblivion. They we're all surprisingly sick.
  17. That's why I said Skyrim squandered their potential. I just thought stealing from the rich and giving to the poor was dumb. The questline itself was awesome. That, alongside the Pirate Cove DLC was the fucking bomb. Felt like a master thief!
  18. I kinda liked that feeling though. In Oblivion we played a bunch of Robin Hood nancies. In Skyrim your fucking scoundrels. A bunch of asshole money loaners, and drug dealers who don't give a shit about the poor. They want to make them pooer. It was like you were running with the Mafia. Sadly Beth fucked up on the potential...
  19. I only like him because hes' voiced by Garette...but yeah. The guy was being a fucking thief! You know, the leader of the Thieves Guild! And let's not even get started on the Companions. Fighter's guild was so much fucking cooler (Like the quest we're you get high and slaughter a village cause you think their goblins)
  20. If only all the guilds in Skyrim we're as good as the DB...and even still it's still inferior to Oblivions.
  21. That was one of my favorite quests in Skyrim actually. Pretty epic battle.
