    "This is my hour. You have failed." This line becomes so much more terrifying and awesome if you know what Gandalf really is, and how the Witch King know his true purpose. And that he's essentially telling an Angle he's going to murder him.

    If I remember, Howe was actually a consultant on the Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy, and one of the lead art directors. I guess he wanted to give the movies a distinctive style?

    Nah movie Witch-King is super badass and that helmet is spooky. Though I do like Howe's more faithful drawing of him

    I guess the Morgul blade kinda counts too. In the books, he was able to wake up the Barrow Wights.

    Eh I like how as Sauron's servant, he can only use parlor tricks in comparison. His "sorcery", so to speak, is sap the courage of Man around him.

    I've heard people say being so close to Mordor and his master gave him a power boost. There's also the fact Gandalf is super limited in what power he can use.

One of the greatest flaws of the movies was cutting him. He made the fucking Nazgul run away from him cause they were scared shitless of him

    I don't know if I prefer John Howe's look or Weta's, but I think the creepy factor is more pronounced in the formers.

    I just love Weta's depiction too much to complain However, John Howe (whose mostly regarded as the books "canon" visual look) always depicts Melkor and Sauron wearing it.

    Reading the Lord of the Rings and playing Divide and Conquer again just reminds me how fucking badass Tolkien's Dwarves are. Nothing will ever compare to the OG fantasy series.

    Going to the BB and DS comparison again, I still think this is by far the most horrifying villian FROM has done.
