In other news, the Escape from Tarkov devs are adding a PVE only mode to the game (one of the most highly requested features)...under a 290 DOLLAR paywall and breaking there promise that new modes would always be free. It's also coming with a bunch of overpowered items that break the game. Gaming is really getting pretty scummy isn't it

You'll be happy to know, after nine years, Bethesda is fixing some Fallout 4 bugs today.
And introducing hundreds of others, no doubt.
The widescreen support they promised makes the game look really stretched

For some reason, the only Fallout 4 models I really like are the Robots, so it was good to see the fucking TANK Sentry Bot in

Though it's pretty telling even Skyrim usually averages 30,000-40,000 people daily. Even when you take mod's out of the equation, there's so much content on offer. (...mixed content. but fun content)
It makes you reallly scratch your head in relation to what Starfield is like. When you take out the random generation, there's probably like thirty-forty hours at most of unique stuff.

Five thousand people are inflicting that game on themselves per day?
That's just on computer! But from a numbers perspective that's horrible.

This is so fucking sad

Bought this at work today. Single action and, weirdly, single shot. The cylinder is for show. 60 years old and it is still in good condition and shoots great.
Total novelty but I don’t care. Guy I bought it from is very old and traded some beers for it back in when he was working barges in the early 70s.
You should start carrying a Mare's Leg with you

Art style looks all over the place; the enemy designs are cool and then you have the MC looking like a sex doll

Yeah sorry Colonel it looks borderline like a hentai game; should have asked me ten years ago

Playing the System Shock Remake right now. It's absolutely awesome. Despite the graphical update, they kept the super 80's/90's "this is what the future will look like" art style and it looks am amazing.
The enemies are especially retro
Gameplay is alot like the new Prey; with a very open map design that let's you play the way you want with barely any kind of handholding.

@BigBossBalrog DD2 vocations
I tried Trickster but it is a weird vocation. 0% offense (literally no attacks) and 100% support for your pawns. As solid as their AI is compared to companions in most games, I don’t think it’s good enough to justify an entire class being completely reliant on it.
I’m still leveling Thief, but am eager to move on from it. It’s too good and basically trivializes the game. Feels like the most OP class by far.
Next will be Warrior, basically the @ColonelKillaBee class in any given Fromsoft game. From the footage I’ve seen, it looks like it requires more skill to play, and won’t just auto win everything for me like Thief does, so I’m eager to give it a go.
Hopefully by the time it’s leveled, I’ll have found wherever Magic Archer is hiding.
Warrior is the greatsword class correct

Watched the Fallout show. My thoughts:
I really liked they way they handled the vaults. I felt they handled it better than games did in various ways. Though I give the games the leeway of the vaults being ill suited to shot and loot gameplay.
Jet arms on the power armor, really? I also think it too often detracts from the tank feeling of the armor.
Something about the Brotherhood just feels off. They nailed the aesthetic, but their actions and behavior feels off.
Cold fusion? Couldn't they just have copied the regular fusion plotline of the Institute from Fallout 4?
Where the fuck did Hank get his hands on a nuke to blow up Shady Sands just like that?
Loved all the little references and general tone of the show. Felt very Fallout.
Maximus clearly dumped Charisma. Maxed out Luck though as he keeps succeeding despite utterly failing every speech check.
Lucy was fun all around.
Final battle should have been Brotherhood really decimating the NCR remnants with how much power armor they brought. Or at least they should have given the NCR remnants some plasma weapons.
They pretty much slaughtered them, though the NCR gave a hell of a fight. Only took serious casualties when they went up against Howard.

Speaking of cool mutants, I love this

Some good Silent Hill news for once. Bloober updated Jame's Remake look. He looks alot closer to the original game, just high fidelity.
I like the more subtlety tormented versus you know this guy has done something really fucked up

Oh hell super mutants in 3 are fun to fight, it's just their existence on the east coast that's contrived
That's unfortunately a common thing with Fallout 3. For better or worse, they went with rule of cool.

But I gotta disagree with you on the supermutants. One of the best memories I have of FO3 is throwing a nuka grenade into a bunch of supermutants in a hospital and seeing one of them shoot up to the ceiling.
I was going to mention I think the best "this is a zany post-apocalypse" they did was in Point Lookout. It was grounded in alot of pulpy elements (including killer hillbillies and swamp monsters) but had a very consistent theme they kept to, with alot of really good dark atmosphere. Excellent piece of content imo. It's also one of the best usages of Lovecraftian themes that Beth usually likes to throw on without putting much effort into making it work

Nearly everything in 4 is the low point. Tone, art design, writing quality (until the show). The one thing it’s got going for it is Maxson and the BoS, and amusingly most modern fans hate the BoS in Fallout 4.
If were comparing I think Fallout 3 is elevated by really strong art direction, quest design, and the Fallout 1-esque horror elements. Yeah it's writing aint good, but it's better then 4 in that regard

I'm hearing the additional creations are really bad (and they're using the old "Creation Club" format instead of the new Skyrim format, which means no voice acting or actually good design). And the game is actually WAY more buggy then before So like Bethesda fucked up big time.
